Hidden Jewel

I have come to know a friend
A soul so close to all my heart
A friend that I would take for life
A friend I could accept as ONE.

Once a very long time ago
I thought I knew what love was
Love was a feeling, a thought.
Love was a safe place to be.
Love was a kiss that never ended.

Until I looked into the lake
And saw the precious jewel,
The jewel I never cherished
The jewel that was alone
And waited to be cared for,
To be shined.
And in that moment, I saw myself

I saw that love was my protection
From myself, my own worst enemy, ME!

I did not cry, I did not pray, I did not think.
But, in that moment, my heart opened up
And shined, It shined so bright, that it gave life
Life to myself, my true self.
The “I” that is not afraid to love.
To truly feel, to truly be without conditions.

And in this moment this friend, I never knew,
But knew so well, took my hand, held me up,
And danced with me.
Danced to the song of life.

A friend, a true friend
Will be that piece that helps you shine
That allows you to be who YOU are,
That inspires and loves YOU
He is the wind that helps you fly.
(He is divine)
